Hardwood Floor Refinishing Service Near Huntington Beach & Orange, CA
Refinished Hardwood Floors Look Good As New
Do your current hardwood floors need a facelift? My Flooring Guy can help you bring your existing hardwood flooring back to life with our Refinishing service. Over time, your hardwood floors can become discolored from the sun or from age or they can be scratched or dented due to wear and tear over the years. Whether you currently have Engineered hardwood or Solid hardwood, our refinishing experts can assess your floors and let you know if they can be refinished based on their condition. You can also choose refinishing if you simply want to change the color of your floors or even uncover the natural look of the wood itself. If you can do so, it is always more cost-effective to refinish your floors than to replace them. Keep in mind that if you have an outside deck, this can be refinished as well.
During the refinishing process, our expert refinishers will completely sand down the top layer of your existing floor. About three sanding sessions are required, with progressively lighter grit paper as you go. We begin with a coarse 30 -40 grit sandpaper to remove deeper scratches etc, then to a 50-60 grit to smooth out and create an even surface, and finally, we use a fine 80-100 grit to soften and soothe the floors. The floor is then vacuumed with a soft brush attachment. The sanding process exposes the smooth bare wood underneath. You now have the option to re-stain and coat your floor or to retain the natural color of the wood. Lastly, you would choose your preference of finish from Matte to High Gloss.
Mix your own unique colors
If you have decided to stain your newly refinished floors, you have many options. You can choose an existing stain of course in any of the more commonly used colors, or you can have a custom color created just for you. It is a great idea to take a look at the samples in one of our showrooms for ideas and then to customize your color from your chosen base. Our knowledgeable Project Managers would be happy to assist you in the design and customization process.
Just need a recoat?
If your floors are in fair condition and just need a touch up from minor scratches and everyday wear and tear, consider a recoat. This is easily done by lightly buffing the floor with an abrasive pad and then applying an additional coat of finish to fill in minor scratches and blemishes. Call My Flooring Guy to have a project manager give you a free assessment of the condition of your hardwood floor.
